Pumped for next season!
Those of you who have met Nate and followed his tennis ascent will be excited for Nate’s second season at University of Florida. In his Freshman season, Nate notched 41 match wins, as a starter, for the Gators! He made the SEC All-Freshman Team and got to play in the NCAA National’s (winning all his matches).
So, whats next for Nate? After a summer of winning more tennis matches and holding trophies in two tournaments, he’s back in Bend training and engaged in active recovery before heading back to Gainesville. A structured periodized fitness training schedule, hitting the courts and spending quality time with his family and friends are all part of the routine.
Consistency in routine has always been part of Nate’s journey. Trusting himself, those around him and belief in the process are second nature. As conditions change, (now a Sophmore with a new set of expectations) the standard remains: remain humble, focus on whats right in front, put in the hard work and good things will happen. We’ll likely see much more of Nate on the courts. As his ranking improves so does his position on the roster. The Gators lost 5 of their 10 starters and Nate is primed to take on the team leadership role.
I have no doubt, we’ll see big things in the future. Don’t miss viewing this interview with the Gators Head Coach, Bryan Shelton, who was fielding questions on Nate! Having worked with Nate since the age of 13, I realize how much he has helped validate my training philosophy and love for youth athlete development.
