Bend’s Nate Bonetto is rising up the NCAA tennis ranks!
Over the Summer, Nate accepted a D1 scholorship to play tennis, starting this Fall, for the University of Florida, the current NCAA Men’s Tennis National Champions.
I was fortunate enough to start working with Nate when he turned 14.
The primary challenge with youth athletes is staging thier development, helping them safely grow into their bodies while enlisting the best training protocols.
With Nate, training is a partnership. We count on each other to stay commited and trust the process. Nate grew…and grew into his body while continuing his training. Some of our main objectives included building core strength, rotational power, agility and exploseivness.
We were able to progress Nate’s training from establishing strong founational movements, including the squat, hinge, lunge, push, pull and carry using the TRX Suspension Trainer and the TRX Rip Trainer. Simultaneously, Nate was building athletic skill through his training. Balance, endurance and key locomotor skills all continued to improve as Nate progressed through the training plan.
Ultimately, Nate put in the hard work to achieve his goals. As Nate matured and began to play tournaments outside of Bend, we set-up virtual training sessions to keep his golas on track. As a reminder, Bend is a fantastic training environment but lacks a meaningful pool of high performance tennis athletes.
I look forward to seeing Nate’s collegiate experience blossom and someday embark into the pro ranks. The partnership continues as he continues grow. I’m truly humbled to be in Nate’s corner. Nate’s parents Mike and Nancy continue to provide unwaivering support for Nate’s passion and goals and conitnue to trust the process. Onward and upward!
